Constitute Judicial Commission to probe Dangri terror attack lapses: SOS Int’l to Govt
Victim families threaten mass migration, to submit memo to LG

JAMMU: SOS International–an Organization for PoJK Refugees-has served an ultimatum to the UT administration to constitute a Judicial Commission within a week’s time to fix official responsibility into all lapses that led to targeted killings of Hindus in Rajouri district’s Dangri village or get ready to face a legal battle in the Court of law. The Organization also announced that it would approach Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to submit a memorandum, seeking his personal intervention into the matter.
Chairing a meeting called by the victim families of Dangri massacre and attended by local Sarpanchs and Panchs in the village, the SOS International Chairman, Rajiv Chuni reiterated his demand for immediate constitution of a Judicial Commission headed by a retired High Court judge to fix official responsibility into all lapses that led to selective killings of PoJK refugees and ensure that justice is delivered to the victims. “Recent statement of the Director General of Police (DGP) that terrorists managed to escape to the other side of the border is quite unfortunate. It has created a lot of anguish and uncertainty among victim families. The DGP should tender an apology to the victim’s families and sincere efforts should be made to identify, trace and punish the perpetrators of this heinous crime against humanity,” Chuni said.
“We will submit a memorandum to the Lieutenant Governor and request him that the UT government should take all possible measures to apply balm on the wounds of victims by bringing the real culprits to justice. If our demand for the constitution of a Judicial Commission is not fulfilled within a week’s time, we will leave with no option but to move the court of law,” Chuni said. He also demanded that selective killing of Hindus was not possible without local support and terrorists conducted proper recce of the village prior to execution of their nefarious designs. “Security agencies have failed to identify the sympathizers who clandestinely supported perpetrators of the terror attack. They should be identified and punished for their crime,” he said.
During the meeting, the victim Saroj Bala, who lost two sons- Deepak Sharma (23) and Prince Sharma (21), said that security agencies have failed to deliver justice to victim families. “More than three months have lapsed but there is no clue about the perpetrators, who are still at large. We don’t need ex-gratia and jobs offered by the Government. We demand justice should be delivered to the victims by producing attackers before us–alive or dead,” she said, threatening that that they would be forced to migrate from Rajouri if UT administration will not deliver justice to victim families. Other residents of Dangri including Satpal Sharma, who lost a son in attack while his second son was rendered handicapped, also spoke on the occasion. Dheeraj Sharma, elected Sarpanch of Dangri warned that they would return the ex-gratia amount to the same account where from it was credited if justice is not provided to families. Other who spoke on the occasion included Khem Raj, Harsh Raina, Ashok Sharma, Arun Kumar, Yogesh Sharma and Sushil Sharma.
