REASI: As part of the candle march protests campaign, the candle light protests were held at Reasi, Poonch and Mendhar on Saturday in which the senior congress leaders severely criticized BJP Govt. for its negative attitude towards ex-servicemen and farmers and poor people of the Country.
A protest was held at Reasi led by Balwan Singh-General Secretary JKPCC and Jugal Kishore Sharma, Th. Pritam Singh Dist. President and senior leaders Munshi Ram Salalia, Yash Pal Verma, Amit Sharma, Vijay Vakil, Vishan Magotra, Kishan Singh and Ghulam Hussain.
Addressing the protestors, Th. Balwan Singh said that the basement of Modi Govt. at the Centre is Lie. The BJP come to power by spreading lies amongst the people of India. Shri Modi told lie with the ex-servicemen that he has fully implemented OROP but the truth is that the ex-servicemen are still agitating for one rank one pension and they have been betrayed and forced to take such a deadly step of committing suicide. He strongly criticized the Modi Govt. for behaving in insensitive and undemocratic manner detaining the family members of the martyred Ram Kishan Grewal and AICC Vice President Rahul Gandhi.
Jugal Kishore Sharma-MLC in his address said that the Centre and State Govt. failed to fulfill the commitment for safe shelter to the border residence who are facing the bullet of Pak Army repeatedly, in the shape of plots and bunkers. The refugees of various categories have been neglected, the farmers are facing great hardships, the unemployed youth and other daily wagers, casual workers besides employees and pensioners are agitating on roads for their genuine demands, SC & tribal people are agitating for their rights. The government has failed to provide ration as per scale and people are suffering for the last one and half years. There is unprecedented hike in the prices of all commodities and the most unfortunate is that the voice of opposition has been suppressed forcibly in this Modi regime.
Similar Protest was held at Poonch which was led by Dy. Chairman Legislative Council Jahangir Mir, District President S. Rajinder Singh, Senior Congress Leader Ch. Abdul Ghani, S. Gajan Singh, Vicky Sharma, Abhinav Sharma, Balwinder Singh Bagi, Ch. Talib Hussain, Taj Mir and others.
Candle Light Protest was also held at Mendhar which was led by Smt. Praveen Sarwar Khan-Secretary JKPCC. Speaking on the occasion she lashed out at BJP Govt. in the Centre for its total failure on all fronts and said that people of every section of the are suffering for the basic facilities of life. She said the claims of Modi Govt. are hollow and a bundle of lies.
