Common man facing immense difficulties due to inflation: Bhalla

JAMMU: Former Minister and senior Congress leader, Raman Bhalla expressed grave concern over rising inflation which has broken the backbone of common man facing immense difficulties in making both ends meet.
A deputation of women from Nai Basti area of Gandhi Nagar Constituency approached Raman Bhalla, over soaring prices of essential commodities, apprised the former minister that the sky-rocketing prices of vegetables has been a serious concern in the households of rural areas as it has made the average middle class think twice before buying and consuming them.
“With the prices of vegetables touching the skies, it has started pricking the pockets of the consumers by putting additional burden on their monthly budget across the State,” they added.
The deputation comprised of Shello Devi, Kartaro Devi, Krishan Lal Gupta, Bansi Lal, Jyoti Mehra, Minder, Dr. Billo Sharma, Rano Devi and Sita Devi.
While alleging that people of many localities of Jammu city are facing shortage of water, ration and other crisis, former minister said that rising inflation coupled with other problems have made the life of people miserable in the State.
The Congress leader slammed the elected representatives for ignoring genuine and basic issues of common man who is moving from pillar to post for the redressal of their genuine grievances. He said that soaring prices of essentials and other items have badly affected the common people in the State. The prices of vegetables and other food items have reached an unprecedented high, making impossible for the common people to prepare their monthly budget, he added. He said that the worst hit are the housewives, whose monthly budget has gone awry due to spiraling price hike of vegetables and fruit.
Former minister said that due to wrong policies of the Central Government, the inflation has gone so high as to make difficult the life of a common man. He condemned the frequent increase in prices of diesel, petrol, cooking gas and the common use commodities. He demanded that the rates of the common use items should be reduced and more job opportunities may be provided to the unemployed.
Criticising BJP for compromising every principle in the book for the sake of power Bhalla said all their tall claims of being pro Jammu and firm supporters of issues of Jammu region have fallen flat. People of Jammu region are feeling cheated and due disappointment is brewing between them that they have given mandate to wrong hands whose only objective is to remain in power and to occupy the chair only, he added.
Bhalla assured them that all their grievances and genuine issues will be taken into consideration and he will leave no stone unturned in highlighting their grievances on the concerned platform for the mitigation of the same.
