JAMMU: Commissioner Commercial taxes J and K , Hilal Ahmad Parray reviewed the functioning of the department, Jammu division.
Additional Commissioner Commercial Taxes (Administration) Jammu, Additional Commissioner Commercial Taxes (Tax Planning), Dy Commissioners of Commercial Taxes and Commercial Tax Officers of Jammu Division attended the meeting. During the meeting, Additional Commisioner Commercial Taxes gave PowerPoint presentation and highlighted the performance and achievements of the department during the current financial year. It came to fore that the Department (Jammu Division) has registered a growth of 11.82 percent.
As against the revenue of Rs 3506.72 Cr realized in the previous year Rs 3921.26 Cr has been realized in the current financial year (ending February, 2016).
Commercial Commissioner Taxes was informed that the department has a vital role to play in governance and is entrusted with important responsibility of collecting state revenues.
He was also apprised of infrastructure and manpower issues being faced by the department.
While interacting with the officers, the commissioner exhorted upon them to make untiring efforts to achieve the targets.
