BIG Jammu Run-‘Run to Save Water’ on Jan 8

JAMMU: With an objective of creating awareness among the people about the benefits of saving water, second BIG Jammu Run -Run to Save Water would be organized on 8th January at Gulshan Ground Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.
This was informed by Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Sham Lal Choudhary while addressing a press conference here on Tuesday.
The Communication and Capacity Development Unit (CCDU), Department of PHE, is supporting the event, keeping in view, that the aim of this organisation is to build a behavioral change among society which results in reduction of loss of water, control and prevention of contamination and enhancing water quantity, enriching water quality and assuring water prosperity in a sustainable manner. MoS for PHE, I and FC Farooq Ahmad Andrabi, Secretary to Government, PHE, I and FC Department Sanjeev Verma, Chief Engineer, PHE Sushil Aima and Executive Director CCDU Rajiv Malhotra were also present on the occasion.
After releasing the special anthem of Jammu Run, the minister appealed to the youth of the State to come forward and take part in this ‘Run for Saving Water’. It is the responsibility of every citizen to save water for future generations, he added.
Speaking on the occasion, Cluster Head, 92.7 BIGFM Jammu and Kashmir/ Punjab, Syed Mujtaba Ali Jaffery said, “We as responsible corporate citizens are always on the forefront of taking such initiatives which bring about productive and noble social changes in the growth of the city.”
He informed that gratifications will be awarded to the participants through a lucky draw to be held on 8th January. “BIG FM RJs to visit schools, colleges, malls, markets to promote BIG Jammu Run and generate awareness on importance of saving water. The run would start from Gulshan Ground Jammu. The interested persons can register themselves on WhatsApp using contact No – 9070-927-927.
