It is to mention here that I/C Range Officers who are temporarily holding this charge are wearing three stars and blue beret cap which is huge insult to the uniform.
Minister Lal Singh for Forest J and K has called several meetings and in the said meetings the I/C Range Officers attended these meetings in such a uniform whereas the I/C Range Officer are not entitled for wearing such uniform and this makes a mockery of the department that too in front of minister but it is strange to say that no action has been sought from the top officials of the Forest Department. As per 25 CCA service rules I/C system could not exceed from three to six months but with the connivance of higher ups of Forest Department, these so called Range Officers are having stay of more than 20 years as I/C Range Officer.
As per the service rules, officers not below the rank of Range Officer Grade-I can use the seal and stamp for attesting the documents but the I/C Range Officers are without fear doing the said job too as a gazetted officer.
Chief Conservator of Forests Jammu is requested to set right these wrong doings in the Forest Department. The Forest Department is a semi-belt force and is not to be equated with other belt forces with regard to codification of uniform.
