BJP Govt’s lethargy delaying PMGSY projects: Manohar

JAMMU: Dr Manohar Lal Sharma senior Congress leader, former Minister and General Secretary PCC while reviewing the PMGSY projects with the Chief Engineer PMGSY Jammu along with the delegations from Billawar and Kathua, pointed out the delay in the authorisation and execution of the PMGSY projects of Jammu Province under Phase-10 for which the DPR was prepared by the State Technical Authority in the year 2013-14 but the fate of the schemes is hanging due to the casual approach of the public representatives and BJP government in the Center and State. The work had not been taken to ground due to the political gimmicks of the BJP and its ally and put the public in hardship as the terrain is tough and the people still remained without proper roads.
He along with the deputation from Uccha Pind and other areas of Billawar met Chief Engineer PMGSY and demanded early execution of all the road projects under PMGSY Phase-10 and pending projects of Phases-8 and 9 ( stage 1 and stage 2) as early as possible in the interest of general public. He also urged to consider the left out projects, out of 35 submitted for the approval in Billawar PMGSY division and 40 submitted in Kathua PMGSY division. He said that people are protesting against delay in the projects namely Riar Baggan part-II, Non Gala to Trappad part – II and Malhar to Honog (Marhoon). The delegation appealed to the Chief Engineer PMGSY Jammu to take up these left out projects in the step II under Phase-10 on priorty.
Chief Engineer PMGSY gave a patient hearing and assured that tendering process shall be started soon. Members who acompanied the delagtion include Sarpanch Puran Chand Sharma, Ex-Sarpanch Rashpal Singh Sunkhal Katli, Naib Sarpanch Uccha Pind, Raju Kumar Kalda and Kuldeep Kumar.
