Bali Bhagat asks doctors to work with dedication, devotion

JAMMU: Minister for Health and Medical Education, Bali Bhagat on Saturday stressed upon the doctors to work for the cause of poor with dedication and devotion.
The minister was speaking in the national level Cancer Conference ‘CRAB-E-CON DWITIYA’ a Lung Cancer Update organised by LBN Radiations of Hope under aegis of North Zone Association of Radiation Oncologists of India, here on Saturday.
The conference was supported by Maharishi Dayanand Hospital and Medical Research Centre, Department of Biotechnology Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University and J and K Dharmarth Trust.
After inaugurating the conference, the minister laid stress on importance of such type of conferences and lauded the initiative. He praised the national faculty for sharing their experiences and lauded the role of NGOs in supplementing Cancer Care Services.
Highlighting the steps taken by the government to upgrade cancer treatment in the State, he said state government has constituted a committee to suggest measures for prevention of increasing cancer cases in the State. The minister also inaugurated clean environment task force which was established by LBN-ROH with a vision of Swachh Bharat-Swastha Bharat. Organising Secretary, Dr Deepak Abrol gave a presentation of activities of LBN-ROH and a plan to carry it forward and highlighted why such type of thematic conferences are needed. With greats in Oncology like Padamshree, Dr Ashok Vaid who delivered a lecture on Targeted Therapy, Dr G.K. Rath, Director BRAIRCH AIIMS and Director of prestigious upcoming National Cancer Institute who delivered talk on India’s Cancer Scenario, this conference witnessed who’s who in Oncology at national scene who presented and discussed Lung Cancer.
Dr Rakesh Kapoor, Additional Medical Superintendent PGI Chandigarh and Professor of Radiotherapy, gave a talk on stereotactic Ablative Radiotherapy. Dr Purvish Parikh, President ICON and Dr Rajesh Vashisth, Secretary General AROS enlightened with talk on Lung Cancer Management Approach and Role of NGOs in managing cancer respectively.
National Faculty who attended include Dr Ankur Bahl (Max Saket), Dr Manoj Gupta (IGMC Shimla), Dr Swaroopa Mitra (RGCI Delhi), Dr Neeraj Jain (Amritsar), Dr Sapna Nangia and Dr Deepanjan Panda (Apollo New Delhi ), Dr Navneet Singh (PGI Chd), Dr Amit Dhiman (DMC Ludhiana), Dr Meenu Gupta (SRHU Dehradun), Dr Kailash Mittal Itawa, Dr Shikha Halder, Dr Sandeep Batra , Dr Nikhil Vaid (BLK New Delhi), Dr Vaneet Gupta (HCG oncology), Dr Jaskaran Sethi (Fortis Noida), Dr Pradeep Garg (Baba Farid Univ. Faridkot), Dr Ashwani Sharma (RGCI Delhi).
The Faculty from , State included GMC Jammu, GMC Srinagar, SKIMS, SMVD NSH and also took active part.
The special invitees who graced the occasion were former Minister and Chief Secretary and President J and K Dharmarth Trust B.R.Kundal, Principal and Dean GMC JAMMU Dr. Zahid Gillani, Director Health Services Jammu Dr. B.S Pathania, Director JKMSC Dr. Yashpal Sharma, Director Family Welfare Dr. Baldev Raj Sharma and Dy. Director Dr. Ajay Gupta. In felicitation ceremony, the minister was felicitated with Crown of Honour. A specially designed award Kark Charak (remembering Father of Indian Medicine-Acharaya Charak) was conferred upon reputed national faculty. LBN slate of Honour was presented to Dr Sabhyata Gupta from Medanta Gurgaon and LBN Sword of Honour was presented to Dr Abhishek Shankar from AIIMS New Delhi. Dr Manish Pandey General Secretary NZAROI and Dr A.K Rathi President NZAROI were also felicitated. On sidelines of CRAB-E-CON DWITIYA a pan India online essay competition was held in which three best entries were announced. Post Graduates from various institutes of North Zone took active part in poster and oral presentation.
