World Sanskrit Day to be celebrated in J&K on August 7: Sham Lal

‘LG Manoj Sinha to attend function as Chief Guest’

JAMMU: A meeting was held today in Purkhu Domana regarding World Sanskrit Day celebrations to be organized by Shri Kailakh Jyotish & Vedic Sansthan (SKJVS) Trust.
While addressing the meeting, former Minister, Sham Lal Sharma said that Sanskrit Day is celebrated every year on Shravan Purnima and this year it will be celebrated on August 7, 22 by SKJVS Trust. He said that Sanskrit Day is a very unique day in itself, as no other day, dedicated to an ancient language, is celebrated like this at national level.
On this occasion, Vice Chancellor of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Science and Technology Jammu (SKUAST-J), Prof J P Sharma and Director of Agriculture, Jammu, K K Sharma informed that on the occasion, a Kisan Mela will also be organized jointly by Agricultural University, Agriculture Department, and Jammu and Shri Kailak Jyotish and Vedic Sansthan Trust.
President Mahant Rohit Shastri informed that during celebrations at Majestic Grand, Resort, Purkhu, Jammu, LG Manoj Sinha, will participate as the Chief Guest. Professor Madan Mohan Jha, Director, Central Sanskrit University, Jammu Campus informed that Shakti Pathak, IPS, Director, Special Security Force, Raj Bhawan, Director of Choodamani Sanskrit Sansthan, Basohli, a scholar of Devavani Sanskrit, will be honored for his remarkable work in the field of Sanskrit and will be presented this year’s ‘Kailak Sanskrit Ratna Award”.
Others present during the meeting included Adv Pawan Khajuria, Pramod Sharma, Rakesh Gandotra, Pandit Dev Dutt Shastri, Ankush, Chetan Wanchoo, Sat Pal Sharma, Dr Sanjay Sharma, Prof Sharat Sharma, Dr Yogendra Dixit, Anil Padha, Ajay Sharma, Nigam Gupta, Jagdev Singh Chib, Manmohan Singh Jamwal, Vijay Seth, Uttam Chand Sharma, Suman Lal Shastri, Rajan Sharma, J S Manhas, Somil Abrol, Ravinder Singh Patyal, Rajinder Seth, Rakesh Kumar etc.
