Kishtwar: Div Com, IGP take stock of essential services ensuing elections

KISHTWAR: To ensure free and fair Assembly elections in far flung and inaccessible areas of Warwan, Marwah and Dachhan of district Kishtwar, the Divisional Commissioner Jammu Shantmanu accompanied by IGP Jammu Rajesh Kumar and District Development Commissioner Kishtwar Mohammad Javed visited these remote areas on Sunday.
Divisional Commissioner held meetings with general public and government officials to review the availability of essential services and election preparedness. The public of the area highlighted various problems being faced by them.
The Div Com listened patiently to all the grievances and assured the public that all their genuine problems will be addressed. He issued on the spot instructions to the officials present there regarding the problems and issues of people and directed them to immediately take necessary steps to mitigate the problems of people.
Shantmanu also reviewed the polling arrangements in these remote areas. The SVEEP activities, arrangements for polling parties and safe upkeep of EVMs were also discussed.
He stressed upon the district administration to complete the poll arrangements well in time and ensure strict enforcement of Model Code of Conduct.
The IGP took a detailed review of security arrangements in these areas. He interacted with police and para military forces deployed in these areas and took stock of further deployment of forces. The transport plan was also discussed in detail.
