Ex-Cong Minister, his brothers, Beigh Contractor among illegal occupants of Govt land

JAMMU: Ex-Congress minister and his brothers, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP), relatives of ex-Congress minister and a Jammu based contractor figure in the list of Roshni Cases and illegal occupants on government land in Jammu.
Former Congress Minister Mula Ram , his brothers Rattan Lal, Madan Lal and Bodh Raj, all sons of Amarnath occupied 123 kanals land at Marh while Mula Ram, son of Amarnath, has also occupied another piece of land measuring 3 kanals at Marh.
Shoaib and family members, relatives of ex-minister Aijaz Khan have also occupied 56 kanals and 16 marla land at Lalyal Marh.
Rafeeq Manhas, DySP is in possession of one kanal land at Channi Rama.
A property dealer Shafi, son of Jhumma has occupied 20 kanals land in Jammu while Imran Beigh, a contractor (Beigh Construction Company has occupied 5 kanals land at Channi Rama. All these names has been revealed in a list issued by the J&K administration.
Yesterday, names of former PDP MLC, former Congress MLA and two sons of Ex Chairman of Legislative Council Amrit Malhotra, who was close aide of senior congress leader for former union minister Saifuddin Soz, surfaced in the list of beneficiaries of annulled Roshni Act.
According to official record, Nizamuddin Khatana, former MLC and a leader of PDP has encroached over 8 Kanal land at Sunjwan while Sanjeev Sharma, son of former Congress MLA Prakash Chand is beneficiary of three kanals land at Nandani in Jammu District.
Bikram Malhotra and Aditya Malhotra, both sons of Ex Chairman of Legislative Council Amrit Malhotra, who was close aide of Saifuddin Soz, are also the beneficiaries of Roshni Act. Bikram got 17 kanals 5 Marla land at Palth while his brother Aditya got 17 kanal 6 marlas at Palth in District Samba.
Here it is relevant to mention that the Jammu and Kashmir administration has disclosed the details of government land in Jammu and Kashmir that has been allegedly encroached.
The J&K administration has issued list of occupants following a J&K High Court order. The list also mentioned the Jammu residence of former J&K Chief ministers Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah, as having encroached on forest land owned by the government.
The J&K High Court in an order on October 9 had directed that details of “State land in unauthorised occupation” shall be disclosed on the government’s website, along with the names of the beneficiaries under the Roshni Act that was scrapped by the High Court. The beneficiaries under the Act included former Chief Ministers, the then state ministers, retired police, civil servants and politicians.
