DSS for special recruitment drive in border areas

KHOUR: With the continued political stalemate in the State, more and more people are pinning their hopes with Dogra Sadar Sabha (DSS), J and K.
The people of Khour Zone assembled in large numbers under the chairmanship of their President Sukhdev Singh and expressed their solidarity with the people of Kashmir who are undergoing the turmoil let loose by anti-national elements.
They also registered their gratitude to the Central Government for increase in the amount of compensation to the person killed in firing at the LoC.
They looked forward for a special recruitment drive in the border area including Khour division in the para military forces as also the people living there be brought in ALC categories.
Some members demanded compensation for the land occupied by the army during 1999, filling up vacancies of Dogri teachers and lecturers, installation of Maharaja Hari Singh statue at the Main Bazaar at Khaur and observe his birthday on 23rd September as a holiday.
The DSS welcomed the forth coming visit of the All Party Delegation to J and K State and proposed that the delegation should take all stake holders in confidence including DSS which is the sole representative body of the Jammu region which is suffering enormously as a result of unrest in Kashmir Valley.
K.P Singh member of the Central Working Committee of DSS also attended the meeting. Others who spoke on the occasion were Ludhar Mani Bhagat, Gharu Ram, Surjit Singh, Ch. Tara Chand, Davinder Singh and Pathan Singh.
