DDC takes stock of relief restoration works

KISHTWAR: To assess the damages caused by the incessant rains and flash floods in the district and to supervise the relief and restoration work, District Development Commissioner Kishtwar Mohd. Javed Khan on Friday visited different parts of Chatroo Sub-Division.
Sub Divisional Magistrate Chatroo Kartar Singh, Tehsildar Chatroo , XEn PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Kishtwar and Officials of Police, Irrigation and Flood Control and R&B Depts accompanied DDC.
During the visit, DDC took stock of damages caused to the houses, tourist buildings, roads, Hr. Secondary School and the agricultural land by the flash floods in Chatroo Nallah. X En PHE apprised the DDC about the damages in detail and also informed about the progress of restoration works. DDC directed all the concerned officers to assess the losses and submit the relief cases immediately for providing required relief to the affected people. He asked the SDM and Tehsildar to organise special camps in villages and provide door step services to the affected people so that they may not suffer unnecessarily for getting relief cases sanctioned.
DDC also directed the XEn PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control to ensure speedy and timely restoration of protection works so that people may not face any further problems. Khan also inspected the restoration work on different roads and instructed for speedy restoration of all road links. He also interacted with affected families at various locations and assured them that all possible help and assistance will be provided to them.
DDC also impressed upon the officers of Irrigation and Flood Control Department to restore damaged irrigation canals as early as possible so that the farmers of the region may not face any problem.
