T R Gupta Trust organises medical camp at Gujroo Nagrota

JAMMU: Continuing with its mission of outreach rural areas for medical attention, the T R Gupta Public Charitable Trust organized a free one day Multi-speciality medical camp at Gujroo Nagrota, Billawar in collaboration with Hari Prabhu Sanstha.
The Medical camp was inaugurated by I.D Soni, Chief Patron of Hari Prabhu Sanstha, Colonel Maan Singh former Chairman District Development Council and Dr Ashok Kumar Gupta Trustee of the TR Gupta Trust.
Other Trustees of T R Gupta Public Charitable Trust Naresh Gupta, S K Sharma and Kailash Langer were present. Three well known specialists, Dr Ashok Kumar Gupta, Paediatrician and ex- HOD Paediatrics GMC, Jammu, Dr Kuldeep Gubgotra Senior consultant & Physician specialist and Dr S S Padha Consultant Bone & Joint Specialist. They examined more than 300 patients who had thronged the camp site from adjoining areas for medical treatment. Provisions of blood tests and ECG were also made. Over 125 patients were benefited by this diagnostic facility. The Trust provided free medicines as prescribed by the specialists.
On the occasion, Dr Ashok Gupta spoke to the people about the deficiencies in the body and said that Anaemia was universal in almost all the children and adolescents, with haemoglobin as low as 5 gm seen in a few.
Majority of children examined were underweight and stunted, but none was overweight or obese. Similar was the situation in adults especially females where haemoglobin ranged between 7 to 10, Dr Ashok said adding that all the children were given albendazole and iron folic acid supplementation and told to avoid junk food and eat homemade food.
To overcome this deficiency, parents were advised to use Iron Utensils for cooking leafy vegetables, avoid tea and refined Sugar and instead use Gur Jaggery, drink safe drinking water etc, he said adding that some patients who needed detailed workup were advised to attend the Trust Clinic at Marble Market Jammu where various blood tests and USG will be done free of cost.
Dr Gupta further emphasized that one of the Trust objectives is to reach the unreached, underprivileged and provide them Medical help in far flung areas by holding such Medical camps.
I D Soni lauded the initiative of T R Gupta Trust to reach out uncovered areas to extend specialised treatment to poor and needy rural people. This noble work taken up by the Trust needs to be extended to other areas. He said that his Hari Prabhu Sanstha too is committed to the welfare of the people and was happy to be associated with the Trust.
Raman Pargal, Ajay Kumar Sharma, Basharat Hussain, Dipesh Kumar, Balvinder Kumar, Naresh Kumar, Punnu Ahirwal Trust staff attended the camp.
All the logistics were provided by the Santha President S C Gupta & General Secretary Kuldeep Gupta and their other staff.
