KISHTWAR: Kishtwar Police in its war against drugs recovered a consignment of narcotics containing nearly three kilograms of Charas (marijuana) and arrested a smuggler.
According to a report, a police party led by the SHO Police Station Kishtwar under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Kishtwar Touseef Rishu under the instructions of District Superintendent of Police Kishtwar Abrar Chowdhary developed a specific information of purchase and transport of Marijuana (Charas) narcotics in the Jawalapur Bounjwah area. The police laid special Naka and during the checking at the Naka point, one Muneer Ahmed son of Bashir Ahmed Butt resident of Trenkal Kahara Gandoh area started fleeing on spotting the police. The police parties followed him and got hold of him. The person was heaving a white- blue patterned bag in his possession on search of which police found nearly 03 kg Marijuana (Charas) narcotics in the bag.
The police has registered case vide FIR No 181/2017 under section 8/20 NDPS Act in Police Station Kishtwar and arrested the accused.
