DODA: Continuing its drive against the illegal manufacturing and sale of liquor, Doda Police in a major operation seized two illegal alcohol brewing units in Goha area of Tehsil Marmat of District Doda on Thursday.
According to reports, on an information from locals, a police team led by Incharge Police Post Goha, SI Firdous Ahmed raided two houses in Prabbal village of Goha where large alcohol barrels were found buried in the soil besides two brewing units were found in the two adjoining houses, which were seized by the police. During the raid of two houses, police also recovered 13 liters of Lahan and 10 liters liquor which was destroyed on the spot.
Two person were also arrested during the raids which were identified as Ratan Lal son of Duni Chand and Bishan Dass son of Thachu Ram resident of Prabbal Marmat.
A case vide FIR No 51/2017 under section 48-A Excise Act was registered at Police Station Doda.
