SAMBA: In its continuous drive against the drug menace, Samba Police on Thursday arrested one narcotic smuggler who was smuggling the narcotic substance from Kashmir in a truck and was to be delivered in Punjab at Mansar of district Samba.
The accused has been identified as Mushtaq Ahmed Rather son of Mohd Yousaf Rather resident of Simthan Bijbehara Anantnag.
Reports revealed that a police party of Samba while checking at a Naka at Mansar intercepted a truck bearing Registration No. JK03C-1903 and during search police recovered about 3 kilograms of Charas from one Mushtaq Ahmed Rather.
During preliminary questioning accused disclosed that the consignment was to be delivered from Kashmir to Punjab. A case under FIR No. 194/2014 section 8/20 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Samba and further investigation is going on.
