23rd District Jammu Taekwondo Championship concludes

JAMMU: 23rd District Jammu Taekwondo Championship-2020 organized by District Jammu Taekwondo Association under the aegis of Jammu & Kashmir Taekwondo Association (JKTA) concluded on Monday with the holding of prize distribution function here.
President, Civil Secretariat Non Gazetted Employees Union, J&K, Rouf Ahmad Bhat was the Chief Guest and General Secretary, J&K Judo Association/Joint Secretary, J&K Olympic Association, Vikas Gupta was the Special Guest in the valedictory function, who gave away the championship trophies as also other individual prizes.
Tarun Uppal (President Nirbhay Bharat Charitable Trust), B.S Jamwal (Retd DC) were the Guests of Honour while Arun Malhotra (international football player) and Subash Shastri (President, NMC) were also present on the occasion.
The Championship was conducted under the supervision of D.N. Pangotra, President JKTA.
The technical panel was comprised of Atul Pangotra, Brinder Singh, Arvind Satti, Anchal Sharma, Rashmi Abrol, Narinder Sharma, Tarun Sharma, Shanaz Parveen, Kushagra Sharma, Achutam Dev Singh, Rahul Sharma, Bhanu Pratap Attri, Amit, Sunil Vaid and Nitish Anand.
Other prominent persons present were Jagjit Singh (General Secretary, JKTA), Ramesh Chander Sharma, (Joint Secretary JKTA), Vikas Abrol, Gurinder Rakwal, Zaheer Abbas Khan (Treasurer JKTA), Vikas Sharma, Nazir Khan, Kapil Pangotra, Mitan Baru and Subodh Bhaseen.
Earlier, on the basis of medals won in the competition, Atul International Taekwondo Academy (AITA) and Vishal Academy of Taekwondo emerged as overall winners and lifted the trophy. R.S Pura Taekwondo Club and Mahadev Taekwondo Club remained at second and third places respectively.
The Best Sportsmen Spirit team award went to Jammu Sanskriti School while the most Active Participation award was received by Academy of Unity.
Narayan Sharma was declared the Best Male player and Laxmi Salaria as Best Player in female category.
D.N Pangotra congratulated the teams and organizing committee for their hard work to make the championship a grand success. He also congratulated all the participants, who showed great courage and secured their deserving places in the event.
