BASOHLI: Police on Tuesday arrested two bootleggers and recovered 81 pouches of liquor from their possession.
According to a report, during Naka checking at Bani Road near FCI store, a police party of Police Station Basohli intercepted one load carrier Mahindra bearing registration No JK02E-2248 and during checking recovered 40 pouches of Desi liquor (J and K Excise ) from the possession of driver Sudesh Kumar son of Amir Chand resident of Duggal Teh Bani. A case vide FIR No 50/2016 under section 48(A) Excise Act was registered at Police Station Basohli.
Where as in another operation, same police party arrested another person namely Suresh Kumar son of Daleep Singh resident of Gadodi Panchyat Jano Tehsil Basohli from Rehni area at Bani Road and recovered 41 pouches of JK Excise Desi liquor from his possession. A case vide FIR No 51/2016 under 48(A) Excise Act has been registered. Both the operations were conducted by SHO Basohli Inspr Kulbir Singh Chowdhary.
