NAGROTA: Police on Wednesday foiled a bovine smuggling bid by rescuing 15 bovines and arrested a smuggler.
As per details, a party from Police Station Nagrota intercepted a truck (JK02AC/8569), which was on its way from Jammu towards Kashmir. On checking, the truck was found laden with 15 Bovines and driver of truck namely Surjeet Kumar, son of Satpaul, resident of Tanda, R S Pura failed to produce DM’s permission. In this connection, a case vide FIR No 449/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Nagrota. The accused was arrested on the spot and truck has been seized. A police team led by Insp Mohd Shokat, SHO Nagrota made arrest/recovery under the supervision of Purupkar Singh SDPO Nagrota and Sanjay Sharma SP Rural Jammu.
