POONCH: Zafar Club on Friday made it a 14 runs win against Dallan Cricket Club in the ongoing Shaheed Manjit Singh Memorial Twenty20 Cricket Tournament at Government Degree College Ground, here. Earlier, batting first, Zafer Club set a target of 123 runs, which, in reply, Dalaan could not chase and bowled out for 108 runs in the 18th over the game.
Zeeshan remained top scorer with 45 runs while Mehmood took three wickets from Dalaan Club. Batting second, Dalaan Club started their innings on a positive note but could not save the wickets at the later stages of the game thereby lost the match.
However, Mehmood fought bravely contributing 40 runs but could not take the innings to its logical end. From Zafar Club, Mukarab claimed four wickets. He was later named man of the match for restricting the opponent from achieving the total.
In today’s match, CEO Tourism, Mohd Akram was special guest, who interacted with the teams. Harbans Singh, Waseem Raja, Imran Khan, Zaid Sharif and Romesh Sharma were umpires in today’s match.
