RSPURA: Wrestler Jagroop Singh of Amritsar (Punjab) took away the Badyal Bhramana (Deriyan) Kesari Dangal title outplaying Jeeta of Jallander in the main bout that took place at in the memory of Peer Baba at village Deriyan, here on Sunday .
Dangal was organised by Ch. Sampooran, Ch. Puran , Ch. Vijay, Bihari Lal, Ch. Raman and Kamal Choudhary in the memory of Peer Baba.
Second main bout was played between wrestler Kaka of RS Pura and Amar of Amritsar which was later won by Kaka.
Winner wrestlers Jagroop and Kaka were awarded with Refrigerator and Colour Television respectively by Chief Guest, Bhupinder Singh, prominent social worker and SSP (Retd).
The wrestlers from within the State and other states took part in the event.
Thousands of people from different communities witnessed the event.
Chief Guest said that this is a great example of rural sports, adding that such events provide a great opportunity to the budding sportsmen who are interested to participate in the wrestling events.
He further said that sportsmen strengthen the communal harmony.
Other present on the occasion were Vijay Choudhary , Bihari Lal, Puran Choudhary, Sampooran Choudhary, Raman Choudhary , Kamal Choudhary, Pawan Choudhary, Ajay Choudhary, Choudhary Satpal , Choudhary Darshan Kumar , Choudhary Lucky , Choudhary Suraj Kumar and Tilak Choudhary.
