Jammu: An unidentified woman was on Tuesday crushed to death by a speeding crane at the BC Road area of Jammu city, a police officer said.
An over speeding crane hit a woman following which the panicked driver left the vehicle in moving state and fled from the spot. The moving crane after crushing the woman to death also hit few other vehicles, the officer said.
He said that a case has been registered and the vehicle involved in the accident was seized. Manhunt has been launched to nab the driver, he added.
Meanwhile, the eyewitnesses alleged that soon after the accident they informed the police, but it took more than 45 minutes for the police to reach the spot and shift the body of the deceased to the hospital for postmortem and identification.
