DODA: A woman committed suicide reportedly by jumping into the Chenab River on Saturday afternoon.
According to a report, Rekha Devi daughter of Hari Lal resident of Mudsrunda Shiva area of District Doda jumped into Chenab River from the newly constructed Ganpat Bridge near Pul Doda. Police started rescue operation to fish-out the body but when last report came in, the body was yet to be traced.
An inquest proceedings under section 174 CRPC has been started by the police. “We are in process of collecting the evidence about the actual cause of death,” a police official said.
