REASI: Police on Saturday arrested a woman who was indulging in distillation of illicit liquor and destroyed 100 litres of Lahan on the spot.
According to a report, a specific information was received by Reasi Police that a woman namely Kulbir Kour wife of Surjeet Singh resident of Tanda Tehsil and District Reasi was indulging in manufacturing of illicit liquor.
On this information, a police party led by Mohan Lal, Dy.SP Hqrs. Reasi along with Inspector Dalip Singh, SHO Police Station Reasi and In-Charge Police Post Dera Baba conducted raid in the house of Kulbir Kour and seized 40 litres Lahan along with all material for preparation of illegal Desi liquor from her house. About 100 liters Lahan was also recovered and destroyed on the spot. The accused lady was arrested and a case vide FIR No. 83/2016 under section 48-(E) Excise Act was registered at Police Station Reasi against the accused woman.
