29 Feb: Light rain/snow in a few areas towards evening/night.

01 March: Light to moderate rain/snow in most areas of Jammu and Kashmir. No snowfall is expected in plains.

02 March: Moderate to very heavy rain and snowfall is expected in entire Jammu and Kashmir.
24-hour precipitation amount can exceed 150 mm in areas marked with red on the map.
On 02 March, the low pressure area will shift over Jammu and Kashmir such that it will pull the moisture from all over towards Jammu and Kashmir.
The freezing level height will be lower over north Kashmir parts than central and south Kashmir parts generally. So, the potential of snowfall will be maximum for north Kashmir plains.

Snowfall Possibility:
North Kashmir Plains: 50% (maximum chances for Kupwara district)
Central Kashmir Plains: 30% (snowfall possible if heavy rainfall persists continuously)
South Kashmir Plains: 35% (maximum chances for Shopian district) (snowfall possible if heavy rainfall persists continuously)

● In Jammu region, moderate to very heavy rainfall can lead to flash floods in some areas.

● Lightning and Thunderstorm are expected in some areas of Jammu and Kashmir, particularly in Jammu plains.

● Strong Gusty winds can also be there in some areas.

03 March: Light to moderate rain/snow is expected in a few areas. Otherwise, dry weather is expected.

Note: It is suggested to avoid traveling on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway till 03 March. Landslides and shooting stones can cause day long disruptions on 02 March.
