Vote PDP to end misrule, corruption: Suram
STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate from Marh Assembly, Suram Singh Chib today asked the people to vote for his party to end misrule and corruption in the State.
Addressing largely attended public meeting at camp Gol Gujral of Marh Constituency, Suram said that three years rule of PDP led by Mufti Mohammed Sayeed had infused a sense of security among the people in the State as after a long time it appeared that the democratic institutions got strengthened in J and K.
He said in last six years of NC-Congress rule the basic institutions of democracy like Panchayats and Municipal Councils’ importance was undermined and for over last six years no elections were held to municipalities, municipal corporations and TACs. This shows that both NC and Congress do not believe in transformation of power to people’s doorsteps and strengthening the basic institutions of democracy. Moreover, he said that people of the constituency are also suffering due to wrong policies of the government as there is no proper education, healthcare facility besides power and water crisis. Suram promised if voted to power he will not leave a stone unturned to develop constituency at modern lines.
Suram also hits out at BJP saying that their leaders are bent upon seeking votes in the name of Modi. “Truth is that BJP leaders have failed to satisfy people as earlier they looted them and now begging for votes in the name of Modi”, Suram said.
He said that voting PDP is the empowerment of common man and strengthening of basic institutions of democracy. “The party is committed to overall development of the State and equitable distribution of funds to all three regions, creating employment avenues, boosting tourism, industry and trade”, he added.
The meeting was organised by State General Secretary Jagjeet Singh Jagga in which District Rural General Secretary K.K Sharma, Vikram Singh Chib Block President Marh, Rashpal Bittu, Dileram, Capt. Kamal and Ashok Kumar were also present.
