SRINAGAR: Senior Scientist, Advanced Centre for Human Genetics, SKIMS Dr. Arshad Ahmad Pandith received National Award on his contribution in Science by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, 2014 by the President of India at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi on 3rd December.
Director SKIMS Dr. S.A Zargar congratulated Dr. Arshad for his achievement and said SKIMS is proud of Dr. Arshad for being conferred with the prestigious award. The award comes as recognition to his contribution in the field of Cancer research and genetic disease diagnostic services at SKIMS.
Dr. Arshad Pandith did his Ph.D in Immunology and Molecular Medicine/Cancer biology from SKIMS University. Besides many awards to his credit, Dr. Arshad has authored a book “Incidence and Role of Proto-oncogenes in Bladder Cancer in Kashmiri Population”. He also has many publications published in national and international journals besides two big ongoing research projects in SKIMS are being carried out under his supervision.
