Vision Nagrota catches imagination of all, says Rana

NAGROTA: Lauding unprecedented enthusiasm among the people of Nagrota for development of the constituency, National Conference candidate Devender Singh Rana on Monday promised to get down to brass tracks soon after the ongoing elections are over.
“Nagrota can’t wait for a day lest years to see the vision of its people realised”, Rana said while addressing impromptu election meetings across the constituency.
He said the potential of the area has caught the imagination of those believing in growth of the capital city and the day is not far when all Jammu roads will lead to Nagrota. “We are conscious about the huge potential of the area and committed to transform it into Nava Jammu”, he told the people amid huge applause.
Spelling out broader contours of the Nava Jammu concept, the National Conference candidate said all possibilities will be explored to ensure that the Jammu city expands on this side as well, given its topography and strategical importance on the Jammu-Srinagar Highway. He said the topographical advantage is ideal for developing tourism spots, wayside eateries, small industrial units, academic institutions and recreational parks.
Rana referred to the innovative suggestions coming from the young people of the area and said a perspective planning will be needed to draw an action plan in consonance with the growth of various satellite townships across the country. “This will be a major initiative towards steering the constituency to economic self-reliance and massive infrastructural development.
“As expansion of the Jammu city will entail raising of huge infrastructure, the activity will generate employment for all segments of the society”, he added.
The Provincial President said there will be no looking back to achieving this objective in a time bound manner. “Given the commitment of the Chief Minister to development, we are optimistic to achieve our objectives”, he said while asking the people to gear up for big activity all over the constituency.
Alongside expanding Nagrota, due attention will be paid towards uplift of the people by implementing various welfare schemes under the state and central sectors. He also spelled out the priorities of National Conference for uplift of weaker sections of society and the people living in remote areas, saying welfare measures have got special thrust during the past six years.
He said development and implementation of various schemes have received a big push in recent years but sill more will be required to done in view of the challenges ahead of the State.
