JAMMU: New Year 2016 was celebrated with excitement and happiness in Vishwa Bharati Public Higher Secondary School, Akalpur, here on Friday. A special programme was organised by the students of the school.
Welcome address was delivered by Uttma Punjabi, Department of Hindi in which she explained in details the significance of the day.
The programme included various songs, dances and skits.
Besides a colourful extravaganza of performances with their graceful and energetic moves by the students, Antakshari section for the teachers made the event more cherishable.
Principal, Prof. Annapurna Koul wished everyone a happy, joyous and prosperous New Year.
Prizes were given away to students of the Pre-Primary and Primary Wings who had excelled in various curricular and co-curricular activities during the current academic year.
The programme was compered by Achint Kour from the Department of English.
