JAMMU: Vishal Thapar, Ace International Fencer of UT of J&K, has been selected to represent India in Senior Asian Fencing Championship to be held at Seoul Korea from June 10 to 15, 2022, as per a handout issued by the Fencing Association of India.
The selection of Vishal Thapar in this prestigious championship is based on his excellent performance in Senior National Championship 2021-22 held at Amritsar wherein he has won Individual Bronze Medal in Sabre Event.
Nuzhat Gul, Secretary, J&K Sports Council in her congratulatory message praised the efforts of Vishal Thapar for this achievement and wished him best of luck for the championship. She also applauded the efforts of Adhoc Committee of J&KAFA and Shotu lal Sharma, Fencing Instructor.
Rashid Ahmed, Convener Adhoc Committee, Coaches and all the senior fencers thanked Nuzhat Gul and J&K Sports Council for providing all the necessary support and better sports facilities to the budding fencers so that they can excel at International and National Circuit.
