NOWSHERA: People of three Panchayats held a meeting in which they strongly criticised the services of Border Road Organisation (BRO) for non-construction of bridge over the Nallah on Rajpura – Komila Road even after three years of tragic calamity in which 66 precious lives were washed away on 4th September, 2014.
They said that the necessity for construction of bridge over this Nallah hardly needs to be explained for consideration by the Competent Sanctioning Authority (CFA) for the approval of this bridge, but it was due to the lack of interest on the part of BRO that no efforts were made in this direction. Former Sarpanchs Rajinder Singh of Rajpura Komila, Sarpanch Paramjeet Singh of Quila Darhal and Sarpanch Miyan Khan of Rajpura Bhata besides the members and villagers appealed to the Deputy Commissioner Rajouri to take up this case with the BRO authorities because thousands of people including school going children have to cross this Nallah which becomes impossible during rains.
