Vigilance to probe graft case against MS in illegal appointments

JAMMU: In pursuant to the directions of Court of Special Judge, Anti-Corruption, Kashmir, Srinagar passed in the final report (Ikhtitami) of case FIR No.26/2002 Police Station Kargil under Section 5(2) J and K PC Act, the General Administration Department with the approval of the competent authority decided to transfer the case for further investigation to the Vigilance Organization vide No.GAD(Vig) 08/2016 dated 29th July 2016.
Accordingly the investigation of the case was taken up by the Vigilance Organization, Kashmir.
The case FIR No.26/2002 was initially registered in Police Station Kargil for offence under Section 5(2) J and K PC Act against Dr Ghulam Nabi Dar, then Medical Superintendent, District Hospital Kargil for making illegal appointments in the year 1994.
The said investigating agency had recommended departmental action against the delinquent officer and simultaneously the investigation of the case was closed as ‘not admitted’ and the final report in the shape of ‘Ikhtitami’ was presented by the said investigating agency before the Court of Special Judge, Anticorruption, Kashmir Srinagar. The Court vide its order dated 3rd March 2015 while disagreeing with the investigation has returned back the final report to the concerned police station for referring the matter to the appropriate agency (Vigilance Organisation) for further investigation. The further investigation of the case taken up by the Vigilance Organisation is in progress.
