JAMMU: Vidya Bharti Poorv Chhatr Parishad J&K, the State Unit of Vidya Bharti Akhil Bhartiya Poorv Chhatr Parishad, the largest alumni of world, held its Prant Sammelan in Bhaurao Devras auditorium of BVM Amphalla Jammu on Sunday. Des Raj Sharma, General Secretary Vidya Bharti (North zone) was the Chief Guest and main Speaker on the occasion. Other dignitaries present during the Sammelan included Harsh Kumar Sanyojak Sewa & Prashikshan Vidya Bharti Kurukshetra, Ved Bhushan Sharma President BSSJK, Hari Bhushan General Secretary, Satish Mittal Treasurer, Pradip Kumar Sangthan Mantri Vidya Bharti J&K and Sunit Kumar Raina Cooperator JMC.
The programme started with Saraswati Vandana and introduction of Chief Gust and other dignitaries. The welcome address was presented by Samir Saproo Office Secretary BSSJK after which Prant Sanyojak, Sudeep Sharma highlighted aims and objectives of Poorv Chhatr Parishad. He informed participants that Parishad is the largest Alumni association working with a mission of ‘My School My Pride’ having membership of 3,81,000 and providing education, healthcare, and financial assistance to needy besides developing school infrastructure and human resource. He further said that there are almost 10,000 members in UTs of J&K & Ladakh working in various public & private sectors.
Pradip Kumar, Sangthan Mantri Vidya Bharti presented details of Vidya Bharti schools in Ladakh and J&K UTs. “Bhartiya Shiksha Samiti J&K (Regd) is the State Unit of Vidya Bharti which is running 36 schools in UTs of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. Most of the schools are located in remote areas like Kishtwar, Doda, Leh & Kargil. At present more than 9,000 students are studying in these schools under guidance of 600 teachers, who are working with dedication and commitment for providing quality education based on our rich cultural, heritage & as per curriculum devised by UT and central government,” he said, adding, “Vidya Bharti Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Sansthan is the largest non-governmental Organisation in the field of education running more than 12,000 educational institutions along with 13,000 non-formal educational institutions, in which 32 lakh students are studying under guidance of 1.5 lakh teachers across the country.”
On the occasion, some ex-students/ Poorv Chhatr shared their experiences during study in BVM schools, which included Simranjeet Singh Dua (Senior Journalist), Vinay Sharma (working in corporate sector), Johni Kumar (Ex-student BVM Kishtwar), Manik Bhasin (Ex-student BVM Ramban), Dr Sushant Bhasin (Ex-student BVM Dashmesh Nagar), Nidhi (Ex-student BVM Amphalla), Raghu Mahajan (Ex-student BVM Hiranagar and presently a Software Engineer).
A quiz programme based on culture and traditions was also organised for ex-students which was highly appreciated by one and all. The Poorv chhatra Parishad also honoured Principals of their schools on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Des Raj Sharma said that Vidya Bharti is playing a leading role in field of education and organising such activities across the country to make aware Poorv Chhatras regarding their role and responsibility in development of society in general and their schools in particular. He further said that Vidya Bharti works on principle of one school one family, in which students their parents, Poorv Chhatr and members of SMC and society work together. He appreciated Poorv Chhatr Parishad of J&K UT for holding the Sammelan and appealed to all Poorv Chhatras to enroll more and more students in the group besides helping their respective schools, teachers and principals, thereby developing respective school as Model School of area.
Others present on the occasion included Pradeep Tripathi Prant Nirikshak, Dr Naresh Sharma Secretary SMC BVM, Puneet Mahajan, Ram Sewak Sharma, Pradeep Singh, Reena Rajput, Renu Sharma Principals and Poorv Chhatrs Daljeet Singh, Ajit Singh, Lokesh Sharma, Vinay Sharma, Kuldeep Parihar, Yashwant Parihar, Vipin Sen, Rajan Sen and Rohit Sharma. The programme culminated with recitation of Vande Matram.
