VC Sports Council Arun visits Poonch

POONCH: International football player from J and K and Vice Chairman (VC) of the J and K State Sports Council (JKSSC) District Poonch, Arun Malhotra paid a maiden visit to the sports hub of Poonch to look into different aspects of sports and its infrastructure.
During his two days tour of the border district, Arun interacted with regular trainees at the Sports Stadium, the coaches, ground staff and above all veteran and senior players as also retired officials from the Sports Department to gather fist hand information.
He also called on the District Development Commissioner (DDC), M.H Malik, who happens to be the Chairman of the District Council, and asked for early constitution of the District Council by nominating the members.
“It was a great experience for me to visit Poonch. The district has a lot of talent and potential in sports. However, the district lacked in proper infrastructure, especially in indoor games. The young lot is full of passion for sports and to infuse confidence in young boys, I involved them in a brief training session to impart important tips,” Arun said.
Among the coaches and officials present were Krishan Lal (retired Sports Officer of JKSSC), Incharge Sports Stadium, Nirdosh Kumar, Mustaq Ahmed (Boxing), Tarlochan Singh (Football), Pawan Kumar (Hockey), Mukesh Kumar (Hockey), Narinder Singh (PEM) , Sourab Sharma (PET), Ravinder Singh and Mohinder Bali.
Arun also interacted with players in the disciplines of hockey, volleyball, boxing, handball and football and encouraged them to work hard to achieve higher goals in life.
Meanwhile, in a meeting with DDC Poonch, Arun discussed the issues and problems faced by young budding players during their practice hours at Sports Stadium Poonch. The DDC assured all possible help at his end.
