VAJK organises volleyball matches in Nagrota, Rajouri

JAMMU/RAJOURI: To mark the celebrations of the 77th Independence Day, Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council organized volleyball matches at Nagrota and Rajouri under the banner of Azadi Ka Khel Utsav, Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, My Youth My Pride and Mari Mati Mara Desh-initiatives undertaken by Govt to promote national unity and communal harmony and to eradicate menace of drug among the youth in the country.
At Nagrota, the match was played between Volleyball Club Nagrota and Sainik School Nagrota Boys team in which Sainik School Nagrota beat Volleyball Club Nagrota by 3-1 sets. The match was officiated by Sainik School member Dhruba.
President Subash Shastri, Secretary Naresh Kumar of Nagrota Volleyball Club and Neelam Sharma member of Art of Living were present as main guests.
At Rajouri, Rajouri District Volleyball Association organised an exhibition match at High School Patrara Rajouri in girls section under the supervision of Mohd Tariq, Incharge Rajouri Volleyball Association. In the match, Patrara Green outplayed Patrara Red by 2-1 (25-19, 22-25, 15-13) sets.
On the occasion, Mohd Farooq, Incharge Headmaster was the Chief Guest who appreciated the efforts of Volleyball Association and Mohd Tariq Incharge Rajouri Volleyball Association towards the youth of remote areas particularly in girls section.
Others present were Mohd Shakil, Saleema Begum, Vandana Sharma and Mohd Shariff.
The office bearers of Volleyball Associations headed by Sidharth Daluja, president VAJK hailed the steps taken by all district Volleyball Association in J&K UT to celebrate Independence Day in a befitting manner.
