Dear Editor,
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reportedly said during his foreign trip that earlier, people were ashamed to be Indians, but after the BJP-led Government came to power, they are proud of that fact. The statement, especially coming on foreign soil, was uncalled for. It does not behove a mature and intelligent leader like Modi.
Not to be outdone, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi has been following a similar strategy of meaningless comments that do nothing to enhance his image and the reputation of his party which has been struggling to make a comeback after the 2014 debacle. The public wants development, not mud-slinging.
