JAMMU: Showing deep concern over the deteriorating condition of the Valley due to the prolonged curfew, restriction on media, newspaper and mobile as well as internet coverage, United Democratic Party (UDP) President Kuldeep Singh on Tuesday strongly condemned the non-serious behaviour of the PDP-BJP Government for not looking into the hardships and problems being faced by the people of Kashmir.
“It shows dual character of the government whereas the ministers of Jammu region instead of looking into the hardships of people in Kashmir, are enjoying their lives in Jammu ignoring all the principles enshrined in the Constitution and the oath taken by them to serve the people,” Singh told reporters. The BJP, he said, which has a clear mandate to govern the country has miserably failed to meet the aspirations of the people, especially in States like Jammu and Kashmir, Delhi, Arunachal Pradesh and Uttrakhand.
Imposing curfew is no solution and in case they are not able to govern in a positive direction, they should resign and Governor rule should be applied, he said.
The Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti should depute all ministers to personally supervise the situation in Valley and look into the difficulties and hardships of the suffering people, he added. He further impressed upon the government to ensure safety and security of the minority Sikh community living in different parts of Kashmir.
Manjit Singh, Balbir Singh, Makhan Singh, Amarjit Singh, Satpal Singh, Ajitpal Singh, Ranjit Singh, Harbhajan Singh Raina, Karanjit Singh, Mohinder Pal Singh, Ghar Singh, Inderjit Singh and Mohinder Singh were also present in the press conference.
