UDC team visits flood-hit area

UDHAMPUR: Members of Udhampur Development Council (UDC) visited rain affected area of Udhampur and assessed the situation and condition there. Team visited Jail Road, Sambal, Gangera, Dalah, Jakheani, Rakh Badali, Satani, Mian Bagh, Omara and National Highway from Udhampur to Chenani. After assessing the situation UDC members found that situation is grim due to landslides at various places and mud houses have been dashed to ground and some are likely to crumble down and at various places even concrete houses have been dashed to ground or partially damaged.
Masses have lost their lives as well as property worth lakhs of rupees. UDC members also met affected people and boosted their morale to overcome this hour of grief.
After visiting the affected areas an emergency meeting of UDC was held under the chairmanship of Anil Paba which was presided by Parvesh Parihar.
While speaking in meeting Parvesh Parihar , General Secretary UDC appealed to all members of UDC to remain united in this hour of grief and donate as much as possible for the victims of natural calamity and also boost other people to come forward with helping hand.
Anil Paba appealed to Dist administration to assess the loss of property at the earliest so that compensation is provided to affected masses as they are in dire need to run their system.
Rajesh Sharma, Sanjeev Gupta, Bharat Bhushan, Rakesh Padha were also part of visiting UDC team.
