JAMMU: The Anti Vehicle Theft and Recovery (AVTAR) Team constituted by the SSP Jammu Dr Sunil Gupta, has recovered two stolen bikes and arrested three persons on Sunday. In order to curb the menace of vehicle thefts in Jammu District this special team was constituted by SSP Jammu.
The team after getting the specific information apprehended the bike lifter Lakhwinder Kumar alias Sunny alias Ladoo son of Prem Chand resident of Kalyana, R S Pura and on his disclosure two stolen bikes, Hero Honda Passion were recovered.
The accused had sold both these bikes after changing their number plates. One of the bikes was recovered from Sahil Sharma, son of Joginder Pal, resident of Badyal Kazian, R S Pura and other from Karan Singh, son of Joginder Singh, resident of Kalyana, R S Pura. The team has seized both the bikes and arrested three accused. In this connection a case FIR 92/16 under section 379 RPC has been registered in Police Station Arnia. However, more recoveries are likely to be made after investigation.
