Two killed, 25 hurt as bus falls in gorge

RAJOURI: Two passengers were killed and 25 others injured on Thursday when a Canter bus on its way from Lam to Mahore, rolled down in district Rajouri.
According to report, the bus bearing registration No JK02A-4965 which was on its way from Lam to Mahore via Kotranka, rolled down from road at Budi Morh in village Taralla, Rajouri and fell into a 200 feet deep gorge.
Immediately on receipt of information, the Rajouri police rushed to the spot and launched the rescue operation with the assistance of locals. All the victims were shifted to District Hospital Rajouri where the doctors declared two passengers namely Abdul Razak (48) son of Chandiya resident of Palma and Shamim Akhtar (32) wife of Abdul Rashid resident of Bagla Nadyala as brought dead.
Since the condition of three passengers identified as Shakila Begum wife of Mohd Shabir and Mohd Yosuf son of Bulab Din both residents of village Lam and Raj Kumar son of Tilak Raj resident of Nowshera was serious, they have been evacuated to Government Medical College Hospital Jammu for specialised treatment. The remaining 22 injured were admitted in District Hospital Rajouri for treatment.
Later, DC Jitendra K Singh and SSP, Dr. Haseeb Mughal rushed to district hospital and asked hospital management to provide best possible health facilities to the injured passengers.
