JAMMU: Two drug peddlers were arrested alongwith 720 capsule and 60 tablets of banned drugs during an operation here, on Friday, police said.
The arrested have been identified as Parveen Sharma, son of late Rattan Lal Sharma and Parveen Sharma, son of Ved Parkash, both residents of Bakshi Nagar Jammu were apprehended alongwith motorcycle bearing registration No.JK02U-5777 by a police party headed by Station House Officer (SHO) Bakshi Nagar Inspector Ashwani Sharma and Sub Inspector Tara Chand, a police spokesman said.
He said 720 capsule and 60 tablets of banned drugs were recovered from their possession.
A case FIR No 130/2016 under section 8/21/22 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act was registered against the peddlers at Police Station Bakshi Nagar and further investigation is going on, the spokesman said.
The overall operation under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ was conducted under the supervision of Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) West DySP Nikhil Rasgotra and SP City North Dr. Vinod Kumar, a spokesman said.
However, he said, the whole nexus of drugs paddlers is being looked into and more arrests and recoveries are likely to be made.
