SRINAGAR: Two persons died while seven others were injured in two separate road accidents in Handwara and Anantnag.
In Handwara, a Tata-Magic vehicle collided with a Tipper bearing registration number JK01A-1554 at Tutigund on National Highway, resulting in injuries to eight commuters. All the injured persons were shifted to District Hospital Handwara for treatment, where two of the injured identified as Bashir Ahmad Mandoo, son of Ali Mohammad, resident of Bata Colony Bemina, Srinagar and Ayan Ahmad Khan, son of Mohammad Saleem Khan, resident of Zangli Kupwara succumbed to injuries. Other injured persons were referred to Srinagar Hospital for further treatment. A case FIR number 391/2016 under Section 279, 337, 427 RPC stands registered into the matter in Police Station Handwara.
In Anantnag, a sumo bearing registration number JK01N/0590 driven by Zahid Rashid Wani son of Abdul Rashid Wani resident of Brah hit a motorcycle driven by Amir Ahmad Thokar, son of Ghulam Nabi Thokar, resident of Dethu at Kehribal in the jurisdiction of Police Station Mattan, Anantnag, resulting in injuries to the motorcyclist.
The injured was shifted to hospital for treatment. Police has registered a case in this regard.
