Two-day Jammu Lok Mela concludes

UDHAMPUR: The two-day Jammu Lok Mela organised by J and K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) and North Zone Cultural Centre (NZCC), Patiala in collaboration with District Administration, Udhampur concluded here on Friday.
MLA Pawan Gupta was Chief Guest on the occasion.
Additional Secretary, JKAACL Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, Programme Officer NZCC, Patiala Rajesh Bassi were also present on the occasion.
Dr Amn said that Jammu region is known for its multilingual, multi cultural and ethical diversity and Academy has initiated steps towards documentation and preservation of traditional folk and heritage of the State.
He further said that Jammu Lok Melas is the beginning and it will continue as a regular feature and more such mega events will be organised to promote literature and art of the State.
He also expressed his gratitude towards District Administration, Udhampur for their cooperation in organising this Mela.
The folk parties who kept the audience spell bound included , Angroo Ram and party (Ramnagar), Kavita Devi and party (Panjour), Javid Singh and party (Pancher), Basant Ram and party (Ramnagar), Anant Ram and party (Ramnagar), Dev Raj and party (Ramnagar), Mukhtiar Singh and party (Reasi), Prithivi Singh and party (Udhampur), Godavari Devi and party (Sujan Dhar) and Joginder Dubey and party (Ramnagar).
