Two candidates from 58-Reasi served MCC violation notice

REASI: BJP candidate from 58-Reasi Ajay Nanda and Independent Candidate Karnail Singh were on Friday served a show cause notice by a poll official for allegedly operating vehicles – without requisite permission.
Ajay Nanda and Karnail Singh have been asked to explain by 21st November as to why action should not be taken against him for violation of the Model Code of Conduct.
In another notice, Returning Officer, 58 Reasi Tilk Raj Shastri has stated that the Flying Squad, Reasi, during its inspection found election material of Independent candidate Baldev Raj Sharma transported without permission and those present there could not produce documents when demanded.
Returning Officer 58-Reasi Tilk Raj Sharma said that transportation of election material without requisite permission is violation of Model Code of Conduct adding that Election Commission of India is serious about the violations of MCC and action will be taken against the defaulters under the election laws.
It is important to mention here that on Thursday, in a case of violation of the Model Code of Conduct for Assembly elections, two vehicles were seized in Reasi for carrying poll-related materials like banners and posters without requisite permission from election authorities.
