Two arrested with 7 kg Bhukki

POONCH : Two persons were arrested by Surankote Police on Tuesday with 7 kg Bhukki (poppy straw) which they had brought from Valley for sale in the border districts of Rajouri and Poonch. According to police the incharge Check Post Bafliaz ASI Rajinder Singh intercepted a Tata Sumo bearing registration No JK02T-7260 which was on its way from Shopian to Surankote.
During checking the police party recovered 7 kg Bhukki which was kept in cement bags and buckets. The police under the supervision of SHO Surankote Charanjit Singh, SDPO Reyaz Iqbal Tantray and SSP Poonch J. S Johar arrested the driver Irshad Ahmed son of Ghulam Mohd resident of village Kegam, Shopian Kashmir and the only passenger travelling in the vehicle Harmeet Singh son of Baldev Singh resident of Ward No 6, Poonch. The arrested accused have been booked under FIR 122/16 section 8/18 NDPS for investigation.
According to police more arrests are expected after interrogation of the accused.
