SAMBA: Police on Monday arrested a trucker and recovered 1.5 kg poppy straw from his possession.
According to a report, a police party of Police Station Bari-Brahmana headed by ASI Mohan Lal while checking vehicles moving towards Industrial Area Bari Brahmana at SIDCO Chowk, stopped one truck bearing registration No.5214/RJ-31GA driven by Gurdeep Singh son of Jagroop Singh resident of W.No. 9, Saddapati Jaitoo Mandi, Tehsil and District Faridkot, Punjab. During checking, 1.5 Kg of Bhuki was recovered from the cabin of the said vehicle. The vehicle and the contraband item were seized on the spot. The driver was arrested and a case vide FIR No.106/2016 under section 8/15 NDPS Act was registered against the driver at Police Station Bari-Brahmana.
