Tributes paid to police martyrs

POONCH: District Police Poonch observed Police Martyrs Day at District Police Lines Poonch on Tuesday. The ceremony was attended by Jhangir Mir-MLC, DDC Poonch M.H Malik, district officers and large number of prominent citizens/ family members of martyrs / retired police personnel and Sarpanchs the district.
SSP Poonch J.S Johar paid rich tribute to the martyrs of police and other security forces who have laid down their precious lives for the cause of the nation. He also read names of martyrs of the nation on the occasion. He said that it is due to the sacrifices of the martyrs that the peace has been restored in the State.
Later SSP Poonch accompanied by ASP Amit Gupta, DySP Headquarters Deepak Dingra, DySP DAR Khalid Amin, DySP Operations, SHO Poonch Raqesh Akram, and officials of various NGOs visited the memorial of late DySP Manjeet Singh, the then DySP Hqrs. Poonch who had sacrificed his life in the year-2003 while maintaining the best tradition of the police-service before self for the cause of the nation. All the officers paid floral tributes on the memorial of late DySP Manjeet Singh.
At Reasi, Police Commemoration Day was observed at District Police Lines in which police and CRPF contingent took part in the Commemoration Day Parade. Additional DC, Lieutenant Colonel from the army, administrative officers, family members of the martyrs and citizens also participated in the function.
SSP Reasi Vivek Gupta took the salute and paid tributes to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives while fighting the militancy. Name of all the police/security force personnel who have sacrificed their lives while fighting the militancy were read out for their remembrance.
KATHUA: National Police Day-2014 was observed in District Police Lines Kathua in which three contingents of IRP 19th Bn, PTS Kathua and District Police Kathua took part in the Commemoration Day Parade. Besides, the family members of the martyrs, the prominent citizens of the Kathua and the ex- police personnel also attended the function and paid floral tributes to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the sake of the nation.
Pawan Parihar, SSP Kathua took the salute and read out the names of all the brave hearts who laid their lives in the year 2013-2014.
Later SSP Kathua presented dinner sets to the family members of the martyrs as token of remembrance. During the interaction with the family members, SSP Kathua assured them that all the grievances expressed by them will be taken care of.
Sanjeev Khajuria, Principal PTS Kathua, Yogesh Sharma, Addl. SP Kathua , Kuljeet Singh, DSP DAR Kathua, Mushim Ahmed, Dy.SP Hqrs. Kathua, Dewaker Singh, SDPO Border, SHOs and other police officials were also present and paid tributes. The parade was commanded by Mohd Hussain Dy.SP(Prob)
Dhian Chand ex. MLA Distt. President National Conference , Sardar Khan Retd. SP , Som Nath Manjotra , Distt. President BSP , Naresh Sharma senior Congress leader , Sardar Manohar Singh, Sohan Lal, Rattan Chand, Capt. Gian Singh Pathania were also present.
UDHAMPUR: To pay homage to the police martyrs for their supreme sacrifices made for the cause of their nation, Police Commemoration Day was observed at CRPF Complex Omara, Udhampur.
A Guard of Honour followed by floral tributes was paid to the valiant and brave police martyrs who laid down their lives for safeguarding the interest of civilians.
Commandant 137 Bn CRPF, Udhampur, Mukesh Kumar, CRPF officers of all ranks and jawans also paid their floral tributes to the departed souls.
SAMBA: National Police Day (Commemoration Day Parade) was held at District Police Lines, Shah Balode, Samba in the memory of police personnel who laid down their lives while guarding the sovereignty and territory of country. In his address, Anil Magotra SSP Samba paying tributes to the police martyrs said that the day is of special significance for the policemen all over India.
In the function, a large number of dignitaries, members of civil/army administration, all the police officers/jawans of district Samba besides 20 families of the police martyrs of district Samba who sacrificed their lives while performing duties since 1988, were invited to attend the function.
RAJOURI: J and K Police on Tuesday observed Shahidi Diwas to pay homage to martyrs at a function organised in District Police Lines Rajouri.
The names of all those police officers and jawans who laid their lives during the period from 21st October, 2013 to 20th October, 2014 while in performance of their duties, were read out in the ceremony and senior police officers paid tributes by laying wreaths at the memorial in the presence of eminent persons of the town.
Prominent among those present in the function include DIG Rajouri – Poonch Range A. K Atri and SSP Rajouri Dr. Hasim Mughal besides other police officers and jawans.
VIJAYPUR: Police Commemoration day was observed at Police Technical Training Institute (PTTI), Vijaypur to pay tributes to the police martyrs who sacrificed their lives while serving the nation. Ranjit Kanwar SSP (Principal), PTTI Vijaypur presided over the function and read out the names of 642 security personnel who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty across the country. SSP joined accompanied by V.K Jamwal Principal, Ashok Kumar Chib Dy SP (Outdoor), K.K Zuthshi Dy SP (Admn), Satish Sharma Dy SP(Tech), Romesh Chander Sr PO, Madan Lal Dy SP (R&D), Rashpaul Attri Dy SP (Telecomn) and staff/trainees of PTTI Vijaypur laid wreath on the war memorials.
