Generally the popular Govts of the political parties in a democratic set up are for the benefits of the commons. As by the defination of the democracy, it is Govt. of the people, by the people and for the people. Because people elect the Govt. by their votes and it is considered that elected MLAs/MPs are the people to whom the majority of the public like with expectations of the welfare of the people. During elections they allure the people by promising a lot of freebies. Gullibal people get enticed, elect MLAs/MPs as per the expectations but there after elections these elected MLAs, some of whom become ministers also never care for the public, never address the general masses but requisite daily need base material required to run the life. These elected people rather try their level best to change the defination of the democracy by “Govt. off the people; buy the people and far the people”.
Many of the MLAs/MPs ever never visit their constituencies. Their Constituency Development Funds (CDFs) usually go lapsed which is a grave concerning matter under the real use of which daily life can be made better and some problems could be addressed under CDF Scheme and can make their life easier for many years to come. But who cares under the unfair thinking that people have elected them and these people now cannot harm them for the complete six years stint and now they usually go involved into money earning ways besides their monthly hefty salary which is periodically enhanced without any logic. This is because these are the people who are to serve people but they are busy in passing their salary bills with no attention towards the public.
Besides, to keep the people on hopes these politicians have adopted some befooling statements of permanent nature and all political parties and their leaders have adopted such tricks since independence.
What slogans / statements have been adopted are: We are committed to uplift the poor, committed for development. Committed for better education. Committed for the better health services; Committed for better facilities. Committed for better road connectivities. Committed for equal developments in Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh but they will never do under the main working principle “Only say “will do” and practically not to do”. Congress, NC looted the State people on it; and never talked about the Social Justice, a treacherous method adopted under the principle”. Dishonesty is the best policy.
Recent statement of Gen. Secretary Ashok Koul so that BJP is committed for development of Leh; many other leaders have made commitments before since independence but what happened? So there are only commitments and commitments and nothing physical can be seen on the ground. The other slogan is that of ‘Secularism’, a big weapon to be used to befool the public.
There is a great need to amend the laws regarding the tenure of an MLA/MP connecting with the ‘Progress Report’, the only method to check the law makers who are always in the fore front to be the law breakers.
Hopes of Prime Minister for Developments in J and K after the formation of the new Govt. on 4th April 2016 in J and K State cannot be seen with the achievements without the fulfillment of promises made by him on social justice by raising the issue of ‘Mandal Report’s implementation’ during his election speeches.
The new Govt. has taken the oath in the name Indian Constitution. If this Govt. does not allow the flow of Social Justice to the poor and that too for which Supreme Court has given its directions, then “Oath ceremony will only be a formality” again with an aim to snub the rights of the people instead of implementation.
