Training programme on ‘Cyber Forensic’ commences at SKPA

Udhampur: In order to equip the investigating officers of J&K Police with the knowledge and skill of detecting and investigating the growing challenges of Cyber Crime all over the world a 05 days course on “Cyber Forensic” commenced in the S.K Police Academy Udhampur. The course has been designed to impart knowledge and skill in understanding, Overview of Cybercrimes, Communication Devices Based Investigation, Social Media Related Crimes, Handling Digital Evidence, SOPs and hands on, Relevant sections of IT Act, Investigation of Financial Frauds, E-Mail Investigation, Disk Forensics, Operating System Forensics and Network Forensics.
In his inaugural address, Mohan Lal, SSP, Dy. Director welcomed the participants on behalf of the Director of the Academy and said that the Crime in virtual space is predominant factor, the need of the hour is that the complainants should feel comfortable in redressal of their grievances, possible only when we are fully equipped with technological know how. He also gave a brief account of advent of information technology in the UT of J&K. Whereas, Nayeem Abbas Hamdani, Cyber Consultant and Coordinator of the course delivered key note address.
